Susan decided that she would become an artist in Grade One, when she was given gold stars for her artwork.
Susan's formal art education was in graphic design at Algonquin College, in Ottawa. Her independent studies include oil painting at Mount Allison University and various workshops in Oils, Acrylics and Watercolour in Canada and the USA.
Since the early ‘90’s Susan’s
paintings have been exhibited in Eastern Ontario and the northeastern
US. She has won many awards for her work including awards in both
International Artist magazine and The Artist's magazine.
The story of her recent success as an artist was featured in the
June/July 2005 issue of International Artist magazine.
In addition to her work as an artist, Susan works at the community art level and with emerging artists, offering encouragement and development and sharing her knowledge and experience.
