"I work mainly with acrylics in an ultra-realism style, applying layers of colour that take advantage of the transparency of the medium. By manipulating light, shadow and aerial perspective I seek to create a presence, with a feeling of isolation.... "I’m here, is there anybody out there?" Recently I took up exploring: ex-plor'ing 1) investigating new painting techniques and tools; 2) traveling, for discovery, to new painting venues. It has been, and continues to be, an exhilarating passage. While persevering to enhance the artistic processes, I am also acquiring a more intimate understanding of myself. Some things, however, do not change. I am still fascinated by the illustrations of isolation and perpetually intrigued by the metaphoric narratives of the subject matter." While Susan does not claim to be famous, and certainly not wealthy, she is pleased to admit to having work in collections throughout Canada, the USA and Europe. Susan sells her work from her studio at Rosecliffe Cottage in the rural Village of Cumberland in East Ottawa, Ontario and is currently represented by Ottawa Art Gallery Art Rental and Sales Service, Ontario and by Pilar Shephard Art Gallery, Charlottetown, PEI. She also exhibits in several group and focus shows each year in Ontario and Northern New York State.
